Challenges & Solutions
Challenge 1 — Cantilevered structures and sky bridge zones
The building’s unique form includes dramatic overhangs and connecting bridges suspended between towers.
→ Solution: Rapid Posts and Panels were configured to follow non-linear slab edges and maintain protection across complex geometry and bridge installations.
Challenge 2 — Variable floor layouts and façade setbacks
Each tower features stepped heights and different perimeter profiles.
→ Solution: The modularity of Rapid-EPS systems enabled custom adjustments on each level while preserving a continuous guard line.
Challenge 3 — High elevation and wind load exposure
Operating at heights over 200 metres required wind-resistant edge protection.
→ Solution: Rapid Posts were securely anchored by their compression design and panel spacing was optimised to minimise deflection under load.
Challenge 4 — Tight site logistics on Palm Jumeirah
Access and staging space were limited along the crescent road.
→ Solution: Lightweight, modular components allowed quick handling and installation, reducing onsite storage and lifting requirements.
